Mann homers for Dodgers; Gray signs with Milkmen

Devin Mann smacked a home run Sunday to help the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 13-8 in a Spring Training game.

Mann, a 2015 Columbus North graduate, went 1 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Dodgers. He is batting .263 with four RBIs and four runs scored this Spring Training.

Last year, Mann played 74 games at Double-A Tulsa and 44 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City, batting a combined .264 with 16 homers, 61 RBIs and 70 runs scored.

Meanwhile, Columbus East graduate Peyton Gray has signed with the minor league independent Milwaukee Milkmen. Gray pitched for the Milkmen in 2020 and was named the Independent League American Association Relief Pitcher of the Year and Rookie of the Year after going 3-0 with 32 scoreless innings.

Gray also has spent time in the Colorado Rockies and Kansas City Royals organizations. He sat out last season because of arm trouble.
