Club Olympia finished fourth in last weekend’s FAST 500 swim meet in Fishers.

Thirty-four Club Olympia athletes, several of whom competed only in a limited schedule due to the BCSC prom festivities, competed in the first full meet of the Summertime Indiana Swimming Long Course Season, which competes in 50-meter pools. Club Olympia has yet to commence its 50-meter pool training pending the opening of the Donner Aquatic Center.

Shreyan Kulkarni led all Club Olympia swimmers by scoring 122 points and taking second place high points in the 9-10-year-old boys division. Myra Jaryal also claimed second in the 8U girls division with 92 points, and Bella Zhang placed third in the 8U girls division with 70 points.

Kulkarni won the 50 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley and finished second in the 50 butterfly and 100 butterfly. Joining Kulkarni competing in the 9-10 boys division was Aahan Gupta who claimed fifth in the 50 freestyle, 50 butterfly, 100 butterfly and 200 IM, with four additional top 10 finishes. Sarthak Deshmukh took seventh in the 200 IM.

Jaryal won the 200 freestyle and 200 IM and finished second in the 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke and 100 freestytle; fourth in the 50 butterfly and fifth in the 100 backstroke. Zhang won the 100 butterfly and placed second in the 200 IM, fourth in the 100 backstroke, fifth in the 50 breaststroke and added three other top-10 finishes. Also competing in the 8U girls division was Neeti Gujarathi, who took fourth in the 100 breaststroke and seventh in the 50 butterfly.

Cali Gray, swimming in the 9-10 girls division, placed ninth in the 200 IM.

Chad Pendleton, competing in the 8U boys division, won the 50 breaststroke, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle, while claiming second in the 50 backstroke. Arash Thokade finished second in the 50 butterfly and 100 backstroke and third in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

Camila Mejia Murguia, competing in the 11-12 girls division, placed second in the 50 butterfly; third in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly; fourth in the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle and fifth in the 100 backstroke, 200 IM and 400 freestyle. Rebeca Mejia Murguia claimed four top-10 finishes among the 11-12 girls, while Chris Suo and Xavier Zhang claimed one top 10 each in the 11-12 boys division.

Connelly Furnish swam the 13-14 girls division and placed fourth in that division’s high points. Furnish finished third in the 100 breaststroke, 200 freestyle and 800 freestyle; fourth in the 100 butterfly and 200 breaststroke; fifth in the 100 freestyle and 400 freestyle and added two additional top-10s. Josh Pendleton won the 200 buterfly and placed second in the 200 IM and 400 freestyle, third in the 400 IM and fourth in the 100 freestyle, with one additional top-10 finish competing in the 13-14 boys division.

In the Open Division, Brady Beyer won the 200 breaststroke and was fifth in the 200 butterfly and 400 IM, with two additional top-10 finishes. Annie Murer contributed 16 points with four top-20 finishes. Ty Mayer placed top-10 in the 200 butterfly and 800 freestyle. Todd Hundley grabbed a top-10 in the 800 freestyle. Cavan Stilson captured one top-10 finish and had personal-best times in all nine of his events.

Also competing throughout the weekend were Arjun Agarkar, Sarthak Deshmukh, Ethan Hall, Aubrey Hernandez, Aahana Ingole, Adir Joshi, Sanaa Kulkarni, Jasper Nickoll, Judah Nickoll, Kay Payne, Lily Pendleton, Harini Pinna, Eva Rayomand, Ricky Singh and Daxton Wolf.

RUNNING

Runners compete in Elementary event

A total of 303 runners from 31 schools competed in last weekend’s Elementary School Run, Walk and Roll at Mill Race Park.

Southside Elementary, with 56 runners (6.5 percent), won the participation trophy for large schools, while CSA-Lincoln, with 59 runners (16.5 percent) was the participation winner for small schools.

Individual boys and girls winners were CSA-Lincoln’s Warner Fisher and Hazel Frankhauser for first-and-second-grades, Richards’ Camden Miller (7 minutes, 7 seconds) and Southside’s Anna Claire Dalton (7:33) for third-and-fourth-grades and CSA-Lincoln’s Alek Devidze (6:51) and Courtland Reed (7:47) for fifth-and-sixth-grades.
