Several Bartholomew Brown Jennings (BBJ) athletes won medals last weekend at the Indiana Special Olympics Area 2 Spring Games at Salem High School.
Alexis Gotoh, Josh Holley and Hannah Hart all won three gold medals. Hart won the 400-meter run, 200 meters and mini-javelin.
Gotoh and Holley both won the 1,500 meters and 800 meters and teamed with Chaz Rothrock and Jason Sprague to win the 4×100 relay. Holley, who has won numerous gold medals at the Special Olympics Area and State Games over the past few years, set out to put together the relay team to compete this year.
Rothrock also won gold in the 100 and shot put. Sprague took gold in the running long jump and finished sixth in the shot put.

Joe Cox won gold in the 50-meter sprint and sliver in the shot put and mini-javelin. Becca Hunnicutt won gold in the 50-meter sprint and silver in the softball throw and bronze in the standing long jump.

Rindia Dunn won gold in the standing long jump and bronze in the 400-meter walk and softball throw. David Featherston won gold in the shot put, bronze in the mini-javelin and finished fourth in the 50-meter sprint.
Jacob Taylor won sliver in the mini-javelin and softball throw and bronze in the 50-meter sprint.
