The following closings have been announced for Memorial Day, which is Monday.
- Columbus city offices will be closed.
- The Columbus Public Works Department will have no city trash collections on Monday. Collections will run one day behind with Friday’s collection on Saturday. The office will be closed and will reopen on Tuesday at 7 a.m. Toters need to be out at curbside by 7 a.m.
- The Columbus City Utilities office will be closed Monday and reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Customers with a problem with water or sewer service should call the business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
- Bartholomew County offices and the county courthouse are closed on Monday.
- The Republic offices will be closed on Monday but the paper is publishing an edition on Memorial Day. Customer Service will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 812-379-5601. Regular office hours resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
