NORTH VERNON
Norma M. Young, 62, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:25 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 at her home.
Norma was born April 16, 1961, the daughter of Makom and Thelma Lewis Ward. She married Roy Glenn Young in 2004.
Survivors include her children, Kimberly( Chris Yelverton) Loesch, Mary (Allen) League, Loyd (Frances) Schwab, Jeremy Decueber; brother, Malcom (Carolyn) Ward, of Linton, Indiana ; sister, Carolyn Ward of North Vernon, Indiana; longtime companion, Loyd Hockersmith, also of North Vernon; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; first husband, Bruce and sisters, Patricia Lawson and Marcia Markle.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Boyd officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place after the funeral service Friday.
