Kristopher R. Lentz

NORTH VERNON

Kristopher Rex Lentz, 49, of North Vernon left his physical body on August 5, 2023. He passed in his home next to the woman he adored since the day they met 10 years ago, his wife, Ashley Lentz. The bond they share is like a fairy tale unlike any other.

Kris was born on November 20, 1973 to his parents Gary and Trish Lentz. The youngest of three, his parents knew he was special at birth. Contrary to other parents who say that, they really did. The love he showed started at a very early age. His first best friends were his brother, Keith Lentz and his sister, Amy Stanton. They were the first to notice his unique and amazing qualities, and not long after, the rest of the neighborhood knew it too. In no time at all he was the king at Columbus East High School where he was the star running back, homecoming king, and prom king. No matter who you were, if he called you a friend, he showed you what true friendship and love felt like.

Famously gorgeous, opinionated, stubborn, and kind are just a few of the traits he left behind in his children, Brock, Alexcia, Jewel, Connor, Fayth, Shelby, and Hank Lentz. Talented, outgoing, and funny just embodies his granddaughter, Riley Lentz, and he was very excited to meet his grandson in September.

A funeral service for Kris will be held Friday, August 11 at 1 pm at Myers-Reed Chapel 3729 25th Street in Columbus. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Franklin Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends and family may gather for visitation from 10 am until the time of the service.

Kris was a one-of-a-kind man with a big family, not all blood, and he will be greatly missed. The love he had for all is out of this world.
