Pendleton helps Team Indiana to Central Zone championship

Josh Pendleton scored seven points last weekend to help Team Indiana to the Central Zone Championship title in Elkhart.

The Central Zone Championship contests state teams of qualified swimmers ages 14-and-under from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Northern Pennsylvania in four days of Long Course swimming events. Team Indiana scored 5,429 points, followed by Ohio with 4185.5, Wisconsin with 4038.5, Michigan with 3572 and Lake Erie Zone team with 2,212.

Pendleton, who trains with and competes for Club Olympia, finished 12th in the 13-14 year old 1,500-meter freestyle, 15th in the 800 freestyle and 31st in the 400 freestyle. During 2023, he also swam for Team Indiana in the Mid States All Star Championship and the Central Zone Open Water Championship in addition to this last weekend’s Central Zone Championship.
