Lancers endure home loss to Pacers

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh’s search for its first win of the season will have to wait another week.

The Lancers’ offense sputtered, with penalties and turnovers paving the way to a 19-6 home loss against Switzerland County on Friday night.

Despite a respectable ground game that accounted for 179 yards and a 20-yard scoring run by quarterback Connor Ramey, Edinburgh (0-6) wasn’t able to cash in — thanks in large part to three turnovers (two interceptions and a fumble) and 14 penalties for 121 yards.

The Lancers will host winless Irvington Prep next week, but will have to do so without the services of Ramey, who left Friday’s game with an injury, and leading rusher and tackler Jackson Hartwell, who was ejected in the fourth quarter.
