James W. Eden

MAUMEE, OH

James W. Eden died peacefully on September 20, 2023, with his family at his side. He was born to Jearl Dean (Simpson) and James Eden on June 1, 1951, in Columbus, Indiana. Also known as Bill in his younger years, he grew up in the Columbus area and after graduating high school, began his career in the corrugated industry. He started working with Dura Containers then Southwest Forest Industries before ultimately working for Dynamic Dies.

While in Indiana, James had two previous wives, Linda Ponter and Rose Eden. In the mid 1990’s he moved to the Toledo area and continued his career with Dynamic Dies for over 35 years. He held positions in both sales and as a General Manager. Jim enjoyed and excelled in integrating and sharing his years of experience working inside the box plants to achieve maximum results with both Printing and cutting dies. He received many top sales awards over his years of dedicated hard work and was very proud of all his achievements.

James loved sports, especially rooting for Indiana University, Cincinnati Reds, and the New York Yankees. He played on a men’s softball league for years, as well as enjoying golfing and fishing. The outdoors was where he loved to spend time.

James never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone. He would schedule regular phone calls with family and friends. He loved to travel home to Indiana to visit and take people out for dinner. His favorites were steak and shrimp, but he enjoyed a wide variety of foods.

Left to carry on his legacy are his children, Dwight, Tim (Jennifer), Kathleen; grandchildren, Christopher, Ashton; mother, Jearl Dean; siblings, Robert, Karen, Jean, and Cheryl; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. James was preceded in death by his father, James; son, Christopher; and grandson, Blake.
