Hauntingly good Halloween activities

Part of the scene at When Darkness Falls at CERA Sports ark and Campground in Columbus.

Corey Behymer is known as the frighteningly bright and sunny assistant executive director of Cera Sports Park and Campground.

Until Halloween rolls around and Until Darkness Falls.

That’s the name of the scary and allegedly haunted trail at the park at 3989 S. County Road 525E southeast of Columbus. When the path comes to life to chill people to their very bones, Behymer is no longer an administrator.

She’s well, a goblin. She’s not going to say which one.

But she’ll very simply explain how she can make such a metamorphosis.

“It’s in the dark,” she said with a chuckle. “You just change. And the scariness is all in the element of surprise.”

Isn’t that the truth with all things dark and foreboding this time of year? Here are just a few possibilities to mark the holiday, whether you’re checking for innocent, non-scary stuff for the kids or wet-your-pants terror.

You will receive a map, and you may visit the stations in any order you choose, but the last station you visit must be “the cure.” $15.
