Columbus will host its first boxing event in 16 years on Saturday when Columbus PAL Boxing hosts the Indiana Silver Gloves Tournament at Crump Theatre.
Silver Gloves is similar to Golden Gloves, but for ages 8-to-16. The winners become state champions and advance to fight for Team Indiana at next month’s regional in Philadelphia. Six Columbus kids currently are scheduled to compete.
Doors open at 2 p.m., and the fights begin at 3 p.m. The theatre will show Creed 3 at 8 p.m. Friday.
