Earl F. Clipp

CARMEL

Earl F. Clipp, 82, of Carmel and formerly of Columbus passed from this life on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 9:10 a.m. at his daughter’s home.

Mr. Clipp was born on August 21, 1941, in Salem, Indiana, the son of John Franklin and Harriet Josephine Cromer Clipp. On July 6, 1963, he married Mary Lou Shuck. Mr. Clipp attended Indiana University and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy. He retired after many years of service from Arvin Industries where he was an engineer.

Some of his greatest joys were attending his grandchildren’s activities and traveling after retirement. He was an avid Butler and IU basketball fan.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Lou Clipp of Carmel; daughters, Laura (Craig) Clipp Overway of Bloomington and Stacy (Chris) Mulloy of Carmel; grandchildren, Kyle (Erin) Overway, Kaleb (fiancé- Lily Johnson) Overway, John-Michael Mulloy, Mitchell Mulloy; great grandchildren, Harrison Overway and a great granddaughter due in March; sister, Shirley (Jim) Fitzpatrick; and a sister-in-law, Beth Ann Clipp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Clipp.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Luke Maggard officiating.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and also from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday till time of service.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem with full military honors presented.

In memory of Mr. Clipp memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to Heartland Hospice or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
