2 BCSC robotics teams advance to state championship

Two teams from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. robotics league will advance to the state championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in March.

The Sonic Cyborgs of Smith Elementary School and the Central Circuit Breakers of Central Middle School both claimed the teamwork champion award in the Vex IQ Robotics Competition (VIQRC) league in which 27 teams participated in five events that began in October. The Sonic Cyborgs also placed second in the robot skills category.

Also earning awards during the competition were the following teams:

  • The Catalysts, North Side Middle School: Robot skills champion, third place in teamwork.
  • Spartan 5, Northside Middle School: Second place in teamwork.
  • CSA Lincoln: Second place in teamwork, third place in robot skills.
  • Spartan 1, Northside Middle School: Third place in teamwork.

Teams will come back to Central Middle School for a state qualifier tournament on Jan 13, an event that will host 60 teams from around the state.
