New state police troopers sworn in

INDIANAPOLIS — Two recent graduates of the 84th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy have been assigned to the Versailles District Post, whose troopers cover Bartholomew, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings and other southeastern Indiana counties.

Tyler J. Busch of Aurora and Jordan R. Hartmann of Milan were among the 28 new state troopers sworn in by Indiana Justice Christopher M. Goff during a ceremony in the Indiana State Capitol Rotunda on Dec. 21. New troopers were individually assigned to one of 14 ISP districts.

Each new trooper was presented their badge and official identification by Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter and his staff. Carter also delivered the commencement address.

The graduation marked the culmination of 24 weeks of intense training which totaled more than 1,100 hours. New troopers will spend the next three months working side by side with a series of experienced field training officers.
