Seventy capes with designs related to the periodic table were designed by two classes at Columbus Signature Academy at Central Middle School for Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital’s Hero Project. A chemotherapy room at the hospital received a makeover with the capes, thanks to (Fe)male, the Hydrogen Hero and other atomic superheroes.

1999

The Columbus Service League hosted its ninth annual “A Taste of Chocolate,” which raised funds for Kids on the Block, kidscommons, Jefferson Education and Reading is Fundamental. The event included chocolate creations such as chocolate marquis, Ritter’s frozen custard and chocolate cheesecake brownies.

1974

The Indiana Repertory Theater of Indianapolis took up residency in the Columbus East High School auditorium for a public performance of Carlo Goldoni’s “Servant of Two Masters.” Northside Junior High School students also enjoyed “Comedy Kaleidoscope,” which included scenes from “The Taming of the Shrew” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare.
