United Way to host community resource fair

United Way of Bartholomew County will hold a community resource fair on Friday, Feb. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at Memorial Baptist Church, located at 2320 Seventh Street in Columbus.

A wide array of organizations will take part in the fair, including The Arc of Bartholomew County, ASAP Bartholomew County, Centerstone Health Services, Columbus Regional Health, Columbus Township Trustee, Family School Partners, Human Services, Inc., Just Friends, Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center, Love Chapel, Sans Souci, Stride Center, Su Casa and Turning Point Domestic Violence Services. Participating organizations will have representatives on-site to offer a range of resources, services and information for local residents.

“We know that there are families in our community who could benefit from the services that our partner organizations provide,” said Cathy King, community impact director of United Way of Bartholomew County. “We encourage local residents to join us at this event, meet face-to-face with those who are offering assistance, and get connected with available resources.”

The event is made possible through a $5,000 contribution from Duke Energy. The company will have representatives on-site to offer information on electric bill management programs, energy assistance funds, and energy efficiency programs.

“Organizations like the United Way of Bartholomew County provide critical support for residents in need and we’re proud to support their work to make a difference in the lives of our customers,” said Kylie Foster, government and community relations manager at Duke Energy. “Whether you’re seeking assistance or curious about the services available, this event offers the chance to discover an array of resources available right here in our community.”

The event is free and open to the public. A light breakfast will be served.
