WESTMONT, Illinois — Michael Brinegar finished second in the 800-meter freestyle Wednesday on the opening night or the TYR Pro Swim Series Westmont.
The Columbus native was clocked in 7 minutes, 57.11 seconds. Brinegar’s teammate from The Swim Team in Southern California, David Johnson won in 7:57.00.

Brady Beyer, a 2023 Columbus East graduate who also trains with The Swim Team , finished 22nd in 8:39.26.
