HONOLULU — Hawaii middle blocker Kurt Nusterer has been named Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Nusterer, a redshirt sophomore from Columbus North, led the Rainbow Warriors with 18 blocks in three wins in helping lead them to the OUTRIGGER Invitational title. He had a career-high nine blocks in the championship match against UC-Irvine.
Nusterer also averaged 0.82 kills per set in the three wins.
Hawaii (17-1) visits Long Beach State on Friday and Saturday.
