Crimson Pride sweep DH from UC-Clermont

IU Columbus baseball picked up its first doubleheader sweep of the season Wednesday, winning 8-5 and 12-10 against UC-Clermont.

Wyatt Sutton went 3 for 4 with a triple and a home run, and South Decatur graduate Avery Seegers went 2 for 3 with a double, a homer and three RBIs in the opener. Lucas Slager went 2 for 3 with three RBIs, and Peyton Blinn went 2 for 3. Gavin Haltom earned the win in relief of Nathan Van Bibber.

In the second game, Jared Ross went 4 for 5 with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh and four RBIs. Sutton went 2 for 3, Johnny Sewell went 2 for 4 and Blinn had a double and three RBIs. Blake Nigg, the last of five Crimson Pride pitchers, picked up the victory.

IUC (7-17), which eclipsed its win total from all of last season visits Alice Lloyd for a single game on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday.
