Eva M. Bridgewater, 88, of Lima, Ohio formerly of Columbus, passed from this life at 4:05 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
Mrs. Bridgewater was born February 5, 1936, in Grammer, Indiana, the daughter of Harry O. and Bessie E. Howell Mourey. She married Ira M. Bridgewater August 14, 1956; he preceded her in death January 19, 2003.
Eva was formerly employed in the laundromat industry; she was a lifetime member of the VFW auxiliary and enjoyed bowling. She loved her family and friends with all her heart, and she will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her children, Barb (Clinton) Stidham of Lima, OH, Eric (Mary) Bridgewater of KS, Rita Gabriel of Columbus and Ira Joseph (Sarah) Bridgewater of Lima, OH; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jacklyn L. Thompson; brother, Jim R. Mourey; sisters, Louise Hamm and Margie Mourey; and a great-grandson, Kyle Blair.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Edward Cottrell Jr. officiating. Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 10:00 a.m. to time of service.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Ohio Chapel Cemetery.
