Brenda Louise Garland of Columbus, Indiana peacefully passed from this life on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Born November 23, 1943, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of Vernon W., and Louththia Rose Garrison Dinn.
She is survived by her daughter Tamara Ruth Collins (Gary Kinser), grandson Justin Perry (Kenbis), and great-grandchildren Christian, Chloe, Camdan, Brendan, Laken, and Hayven. Also surviving are her sister Ruth Talkington and brothers Bud and Ron Dinn (Lin).
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Aaron Collins, and brother-in-law Ron Talkington.
Brenda was fun-loving, kind, and generous and was always there for her family and friends. She loved the game of Euchre and was always ready to play another game. She was known as the “cat lady” in her neighborhood for always taking in strays and she always had a little dog in her lap to pet.
By the family’s request, a donation could be made to the local Humane Society instead of flowers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, March 18, 2024, at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Home on 25th Street in Columbus, IN. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
