Columbus’ yard waste and weekly brush waste collection routes began this week, with brush and yard waste toters collected on the same day as a customer’s trash collection.
The yard waste program collects grass clippings, weeds, leaves, flowers and hedge trimmings.
Yard waste does not include trash or recycling, sticks or branches, household food or pet waste.
A complete list is available on the City of columbus website at https://www.columbus.in.gov/public-works/sanitation-and-trash/brush-collection/.
For brush and tree limb collection, the brush should be stacked at the curb on trash collection day by 7 a.m. and will be collected by a chipper truck. Large piles of brush exceeding 6’ in length, or are larger than a pick-up truck load, must be submitted for collection through the CurbCycle App, or called in to the Department of Public Works Office at 812-376-2509.
