Lena M. (Ackeret) Weber Kilgas

Lena M. (Ackeret) Weber Kilgas, 91, of Seymour passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Schneck Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 18, 1932, in Seymour to the late Roy D. and Minnie M. (Emily) Ackeret. Lena was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She worked at Seymour Woolen Mill for nine years, then for Amoco Container, where she retired as lead inspector after 18 years. She raised Angus cattle and was the first woman in Redding Township to belong to the Black Angus Breeders Association. She was involved with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for over 25 years. On May 20, 1950, she married Donald F. Weber, and he preceded her in death.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Donna K. (Jerry Whitis) Johnson, Columbus, and John M. (Sandy) Weber, Brownstown; grandchildren, Denise (Andy) Jennings, Eric (Ashley Roberts) Weber, Angie (Jason Patrick) Johnson, Krystal (Tom) Harrell, Seymour, and Kimberly (Jason) Gladden, Crothersville; and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, listed above; husband, Donald F. Weber; son, Larry D. Weber; son in law, Billy R. Johnson; and sister, Betty J. Stout.

A funeral service for Lena will be held at Voss and Sons, 316 North Chestnut Street in Seymour, Tuesday, March 26, at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg, Immanuel Lutheran Church, will officiate. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will immediately follow at Reddington Cemetery in Reddington.
