A “Bubbles Boutique and Brunch,” sponsored by the Granny Connection, was held at Hotel Indigo. Guests enjoyed a brunch, bubbly mimosa, a massage and an opportunity to browse specialty boutique items. Proceeds from the event benefitted women and children in a community-based AIDS program in Zambia.

1999

Decorative eggs created by Columbus artist Aly Cooney were featured in an exhibit at the ArtColumbus Art Gallery. Visitors to the gallery could find more than a dozen hand-painted wooden eggs as well as handmade Easter baskets by Pat Carothers.

1974

Mrs. Charles Ochs, Bird Lady columnist for The Republic, showed slides and gave a talk on the balance of nature to the North Vernon Deanery Council of Catholic Women at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Members of the council were welcomed by the Rev. James Arnesan, and Council President Mrs. John D. Rondot of Columbus was in charge of the meeting.
