North’s White takes runner-up in 3,200 in state indoor meet

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus North junior Neal White finished second in the 3,200 meters in the big-school division of Saturday’s Hoosier State Relays, the unofficial state indoor track and field meet.

White ran 9 minutes, 10.51 seconds. Sam Quagliaroli of Fishers won in 9:08.74.

The Bull Dogs’ Logan Vanzant, Akot Tong, Jace Works and Draven Martinez finished 10th in the distance medley relay in 10:36.52.

The North girls competed in three events. Macy Eaton took 23rd in girls 3,200 in 12:05.69.

Ainsley Sherlock, Adira Sluder, Reece Peeples and Emma Lowther finished 18th in the 4×800 relay in 10:20.96. Kyleigh Wolf, Maggie Russell, Tristan Works and Carys Glyn-Jones were 12th in the distance medley relay in 12:49.12.

This year’s Hoosier State Relays were contested at the new indoor facility at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the first time.
