FOLEY, AL
Lemuel “Jay” Pelley, (82), of Foley, Alabama passed away January 31, 2024. He was born on September 06, 1941, in Dunnville, KY, to the late Jess Pelley &Opal Pelley.
He is survived by his four children, Julie Fowler of Panama City Beach, FL, Jana Pena of Summerdale, AL, Jesse Pelley of Foley, AL &Jeanette Smedley of Loxley, AL. He is also survived by two sisters, Peggy Posey of Scipio, IN, Sue Scott of Columbus, IN &a brother, Mitch Pelley (Clara) of Danville, KY. He had eleven grandchildren &twenty-one great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jess &Opal Pelley of Columbus, IN. &also a grandson, Jeffrey Tolbert of Summerdale, AL.
Jay was a veteran &served in the Army. Over the years, he worked maintenance, truck driving &was in the auto business.
Jay grew up &spent most of his life in Columbus, IN. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing &spending time with family &friends. He had a heart of gold &never met a stranger. He was loved by everyone &will be dearly missed.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 2pm – 4pm at the American Legion – 2515 25th St. Columbus, IN
