State police report heavy traffic heading south on I-65

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Indiana State Police are reporting heavy southbound traffic on I-65 heading through Jackson County as the eclipse watchers head home.

They are urging caution for those traveling on the interstate and asking motorists to be patient, watch your speed, wear your seatbelt and put your phone down.

State troopers say several accidents have been reported and some dangerous behavior is being observed with motorists doing U-turns on the interstates or driving the wrong way on the interstate to get to an exit they just passed.
