PITTSBURGH, Pa. — IU Columbus softball dropped a River States Conference doubleheader Monday at Point Park, falling 6-1 and 4-0.
Four different Crimson Pride players had a hit in the opener, with Mallory Shelton smacking a double. Starting pitcher Sydney Owens allowed only two earned runs in 5 1/3 innings in taking the loss.
Four different IUC players also had a hit in the second game. Alexia Rieckers and Erica Henry combined on an eight-hitter, allowing only two earned runs.
The Crimson Pride (10-18, 8-12) will play their home finale with a doubleheader against IU Southeast beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ceraland.
