East falls to powerhouse Bloomington North squads

Bloomington North swept a track and field dual meet at Columbus East on Tuesday. The No. 1-ranked Cougar boys won 117-14, while the No. 7 Bloomington North girls won 115 1/2-16 1/2.

Jenna Guse (4 feet, 8 inches), Gabbie Meier (4-6) and Carsyn Schlehuser (4-6) went 1-2 and tied for third in the high jump to lead the Olympian girls. Sophie Glick (15-1) and Meier (15-0) went 2-3 in the long jump. Grace Lykins took third in the shot put (29-1) and discus (95-9), Skyelar Ross was third in the 100-meter hurdles (18.97 seconds) and Schlehuser placed third in the 200 (27.92).

Austin Menefee (23.47) and Kadyn Johnson-Bey (23.50) went 1-2 in the 200 to lead the East boys. Jared Brooks finished second in the discus (137-7), and Johnson-Bey was second in the 100 (11.39).
