COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police arrested a local man on a warrant for burglary early Thursday morning.

At about 12:40 a.m., CPD officers were sent to a report of a suspicious person in the area of South Mapleton Street, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

A short time later, the man, identified as James M. Kapetanios, 34, Columbus, was spotted running through yards in the area.

Officers caught Kapetanios in the 2700 block of Clifty Street where they confirmed a felony warrant for his arrest, Harris said. Kapetanios was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of the warrant for Level 5 burglary.
