Crimson Pride drop baseball, softball doubleheaders

The IU Columbus baseball and softball teams both dropped River States Conference doubleheaders on Saturday. The baseball team fell at IU Southeast , and the softball team lost at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods 7-0 and 5-0.

In baseball, Peyton Blinn went 2 for 3 in the opener. Starting pitcher Gavin Haltom took the loss.

Lucas Slager went 2 for 3 in the second game. Starter Nathan Van Bibber took the defeat in the regular-season finale.

In softball, Morgan Steineker went 2 for 3 in the opener. Starting pitcher Sydney Owens took the loss.

Delanie Bronner went 2 for 3 with a double in the second game. Erica Henry pitched a complete game in defeat.

The softball team (10-24, 8-18) wraps up the regular season with doubleheaders Friday at Brescia (Kentucky) and Saturday at Oakland City. The baseball team (10-40, 2-22) now awaits the RSC Tournament.
