Patricia “Marlene” Mull

CROTHERSVILLE

Patricia “Marlene” Mull, 87 of Crothersville, Indiana passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, Indiana. She was born on September 19, 1936, in Columbus, Indiana, to the late Everett D. Rich and Lorean F. (Callahan) Rich. She was a homemaker and former deputy clerk for the Towns of Crothersville and Scottsburg Indiana. Marlene was a member of First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. On May 27, 1955, she married Robert Eugene Mull, who survives.

Marlene was devoted to her family and found joy in hosting gatherings at her and Bob’s home in Crothersville. She took great pride in preparing meals from scratch and her table settings were adorned with a beautiful display of blue and white china and blue crystal, adding an extra touch of elegance to the dinner table.

Because family was so important to her, she diligently kept up with appointments, events, birthdays and anniversaries. She would always remind her family of those special dates through phone calls or filling out a calendar for them.

In her earlier days, Marlene loved her flowers, and she enjoyed spending time in her flower garden during summer and autumn. She planted pink and white impatiens during the summer, which bloomed in abundance and added a vibrant color to their home. In the fall, she took pleasure in caring for her pink, lavender, and yellow chrysanthemums, bringing warmth and coziness to the home. Marlene found joy in maintaining their lawn, making sure that it was perfectly trimmed and manicured. She loved the feeling of accomplishment and the sight of her beautiful lawn filled her with a sense of pride and satisfaction.

During the holiday season, Marlene and Bob would spend countless hours decorating their home for Christmas. They would put up festive decorations and lights, creating a magical atmosphere that brought joy to all the little children who came to visit.

In addition to her dedication to her family and gardening, Marlene had a strong passion for IU Basketball. She avidly followed the team’s games and cheered them on with great enthusiasm.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marjorie Oakes and Barbara Jo Holland and brothers Robert Rich, Jackie Dean Rich, and Donald Rich, and her beloved fur babies; Pumpkin, Annie May, and Shadow (aka Miss Jackson).
