Hauser boys win quad meet

HOPE — The Hauser boys won, and the South Decatur boys and girls each finished second in a track and field quad meet Friday at Hauser.

The Jet boys scored 86.5 points to 65.5 for South Decatur, 55 for Indy Genesis and 18 for Southwestern (Shelby). Indy Genesis won the girls meet with 112.5 points to 67.5 for the Cougars, 33 for Hauser and 13 for Southwestern.

Luke Bruner won the shot put (43 feet, 3 inches) and discus (130-8), Colin Kistler took the 1,600 meters (4 minutes, 53.49 seconds) and 3,200 (10:54.83) and Sam Taylor captured the 100 (12.11) and 400 (53.57) to lead the Jet boys. Nolan Dailey won the 800 (2:15.82), and Hauser took the 4×800 relay (9:20.10).

McKinley Shook led South Decatur with wins in the high jump (5-8), 110 hurdles (16.67) and 300 hurdles (45.35). Owen Arreola took the long jump (19-7), and the Cougars captured the 4×400 relay (3:45.10).

For the girls, the Cougars’ Zoe Meer won the shot (31-0) and discus (89-8), and Madisyn Danforth took the long jump (15-5 1/4). South Decatur also captured the 4×100 relay (54.51).

Hauser’s girls were led by second-place finishes from Addison Dailey in the 300 hurdles (56.77) and Kennedy Konradi in the 3,200 (14:23.12).
