North teams take third in Conference Indiana meet

BLOOMINGTON — Carys Glyn-Jones won the girls 1,600 and 800 meters, and Columbus North’s boys and girls track and field teams both finished third overall in Friday’s Conference Indiana meet.

Top-ranked and host Bloomington North won the boys meet with 156.5 points to 138 for Bloomington South and 92 for the Bull Dogs. The Bloomington North girls won with 145 points to 116 for Bloomington South and 102 for Columbus North.

Glyn-Jones won the 1,600 in 5 minutes, 8.23 seconds and the 800 in 2:16.21. Macy Eaton, Maggie Russell, Tristan Works and Kyleigh Wolf won the 4×800 relay in 9:53.79.

Eaton also finished second in the 3,200 (11:46.86), and Natalie Rohm took second in the 300 hurdles (50.00). Avery Johnson finished third in both the high jump (5 feet) and long jump (16-3), Wolf took third in the 1,600 (5:28.61), Abbi Schiefer was fourth in the shot put (34-4 1/2) and Emerson Chambers was fourth in the 100 hurdles (16.49). North also placed third in the 4×400 relay (4:10.60) and fourth in the 4×100 relay (51.32).

For the boys, Drew Schiefer finished second in both the shot (52-9) and discus (151-3), Liam Milne took second in the 110 hurdles, Logan Vanzant was second in the 1,600 (4:29.76) and Jace Works took second in the 800 (1:56.52). Wyatt Clark finished third in the pole vault (12-0), Owen Russell took third in the 110 hurdles and Akot Tong was third in the 800 (1:57.01)

Also for the Bull Dogs, Draven Martinez finished fourth in the 1,600 (4:33.22) and Neal White took fourth in the 3,200 (9:25.18). North was second in the 4×800 and 4×100 (44.43) relays and third in the 4×400 relay (3:27.99).
