Lovelace sets hits record, but Greyhounds edge North

CARMEL — Columbus North led 6-4 after four innings Tuesday, but Carmel scored three times in the bottom of the fifth and held on for a 7-6 softball victory.

Senior shortstop Kelsey Lovelace broke the Bull Dogs’ all-time hit record with a single.

Bailee Scruggs threw an eight-hitter and went 2 for 3 at the plate for North (7-7). Summer Williams went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, and Morgan Jarvis had two RBIs.
