Looking Back – May 22

Andrew Baldwin, Kian Geraghty, Daniel Kotnik and Michael Vogel received appointments to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, one of the most selective colleges in the country. The four students were among the top 10% of all applicants.


The Kelly Miller Circus, an old-style, big top circus, visited the Edinburgh Park and Recreation Center. The circus had 85 performers, including clowns, acrobats and jugglers.


The Columbus Jaycees received three first place awards for projects members had completed in the past 12 months at the Indiana Jaycee State Convention held in Evansville. The awards were for the mini park at Ninth and Wilson streets, the annual Christmas in August for underprivileged children, and the Special Olympics program in the Columbus area.
