Paige McDaniel
MILAN — Paige McDaniel returned to the pitching circle Wednesday night and threw a three-hitter to lead Hauser to a 2-1 softball win against Milan in the semifinals of the Milan Sectional.
McDaniel recoreded 11 strikeouts to eclipse the 600-strikeout mark for her career. She did not walk a batter.
The Jets (20-8) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on doubles by Lucie Asher and Izzy Brunner and, after a weather delay, added a run in the sixth on an RBI by Maley Jordan. The Indians scored their run in the bottom of the sixth.
Asher finished 3 for 3, and Brunner went 2 for 3 with two doubles. Haven Hartwell went 2 for 3 with a double.
Hauser will face Brownstown Central in the sectional final at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
