MADISON — Trinity Lutheran held on for a 9-7 baseball win against Rising Sun Thursday in a Shawe Memorial Sectional game that was suspended because of rain and lightning on Wednesday.
Peyton Pollert went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple, and Drake Goodpaster went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Cougars (14-11). Jackson Trueblood, Chase Bode, John Harris and Pollert combined on a four-hitter.
Trinity will play the winner of the Henryville-Crothersville game in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Saturday. The winner will play the Shawe-New Washington winner for the sectional title at 1 p.m. Monday.
