Columbus was ranked among the top cities in America as a place for baby boomers to live and an affordable place to retire. The city was ranked on Grandparents.com, a website for the age 50-and-older market.

1999

The 18th annual Taste of Columbus, which served crab bisque, crab cakes and margaritas, raised more than $20,000 for the American Heart Association. The event, presented by The Republic, was held in the Crystal Ballroom at the Holiday Inn.

1974

Three new presidents in three separate divisions of Arvin Industries were named in Columbus. E. William Luzius was named automotive division president, Loren K. Evans was named Arvinyl division president, and John P. Sohn was named consumer division president.
