Bull Dogs rout Woodmen

GREENWOOD — Jake Petrusky needed only 44 pitches to throw a five-hit shutout Thursday and lead Columbus North to a 14-0, five-inning win at Greenwood.

Tyler Finke went 3 for 3, and Casper Clark went 2 for 2 with a home run and three RBIs for the Bull Dogs (13-5). Austin Bode added two RBIs.

Columbus Christian falls

Suburban Christian jumped out to an 8-1 lead after two innings and went on to hand Columbus Christian a 15-3, six-inning defeat.

Drew Robison went 2 for 3 for the Crusaders (1-5).

Cougars rout Jackets

GREENSBURG — Devon Martin and Luke Eden combined on a two-hitter to lead South Decatur to a 13-3 MHC win against Morristown.

Martin and Adam Baugh each went 2 for 3 for the Cougars (4-8, 4-6). Nolan Storm went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, and Brogan Howard had two RBIs.

TRAFALGAR — Columbus North had its winning streak snapped at two with a 13-3, five-inning loss at Indian Creek.

Sierra Norman went 2 for 3 for the Bull Dogs (2-13).

Cougars roll to win

GREENSBURG — South Decatur scored in all six innings in a 14-4 MHC win against Morristown.

Chloee Smith went 4 for 4 with two triples and three RBIs for the Cougars (4-9, 4-4). Sierra Lang went 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs, and Meghan Manlief went 2 for 4.

East edges Batesville

BATESVILLE — Columbus East pulled out a three-set win at No. 1 doubles to claim at 3-2 win at Batesville.

Megna Chari beat Audrey Weigel 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Kathryn Hodzen downed Rachel Rose 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles for the Olympians (7-6). Maddy Rhodes and Emie Kiser topped Baylee Rohlfing and Corinne Stone 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.

East’s Louna Prince fell to Sophie Brown 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Jenna Shoaf and Ayano Nomura lost to Jenna Ertel and Betsy Harmeyer 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Bulldogs nip Panthers

NEW ALBANY — New Albany pulled out a three-set win at No. 1 doubles to claim a 3-2 win against Jennings County.

Hailey Brown beat Abigail Scott 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for the Panthers (10-4). Courtney Lykins and Abigail DeCamp downed Sarah Vanlsenberg and Ruby Quinn 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.

Jennings’ Rebecca Driver fell to Daisy Dukes 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Ellie Hearne lost to Layne Burke 7-5, 7-6 (5) at No. 3 singles. Maddy Hill and Callie Wilder fell to Noir Quershi and Londyn Tyler 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles.

Eagles sweep quad meets

NASHVILLE — Brown County won boys and girls quad meets, while both Hauser teams finished third.

The Eagle boys racked up 110 points to 51 for Southwestern (Shelby), 46 for the Jets and 34 for Indian Creek. Brown County’s girls scored 88 1/2 points to 72 for Indian Creek, 63 1/2 for Hauser and 16 for Southwestern.

Layton Mosier won the shot put (41 feet, 8 inches) and discus (127-7), Dale Phelps took the 110-meter hurdles (17.0 seconds) and 300 hurdles (44.2) and Isaiah Keefauver captured the 400 (51.7) and 200 (23.9) to lead the Eagle boys. Evan Fleischman won the pole vault (9-6), Marino Dolph took the 1,600 (4:50.3), Wyatt Wyman captured the 800 (1:57.3) and Brown County won the 4×800 (8:38.6) and 4×400 (3:30.8) relays).

Hauser’s Joe Hunter won the long jump (19- 1/2), and Ryan Ault took the 3,200 (10:38.5).

Kathleen McCann won the 400 (1:01.3) and 200 (28.0) to lead the Brown County girls. Abigail Hollander took the pole vault (8-0), Anna Fleetwood captured the 1,600 (5:35.9), Emelia Koester won the 3,200 (12:25.8) and the Eagles took the 4×800 (10:44.5) and 4×400 (4:31.7) relays.

Hauser’s Ashley Chambers won the high jump (4-9) and long jump (14-6 1/2), and Grace Hasler took the 100 hurdles (16.3) and 300 hurdles (49.5). Marnie Schwarzkopf captured the 800 (2:35.1), and the Jets won the 4×100 relay (53.7).

Lancers have partial score

FRANKLIN — Edinburgh did not have enough golfers to score as a team in a match against Whiteland at The Legends. The Warriors shot a 176.

Bladen Hancock led the Lancers with a 48. Noah Childers added a 66, and Darius Bennett had a 68.
