• the drivers who were respectful to the funeral procession on Wednesday going to the cemetery in Shelby County from Jewell Rittman Funeral Home, from Pastor Glenn Poynter.

• the two lovely young girls who were joyfully dancing in the rain near The Commons and brought a smile to my face.

• Jordan at Applebee’s on 25th Street for his outstanding service, friendliness and honesty.

• the lady who brought me home after I fell on Marr Road — thank you so much.

• everyone who was respectful and pulled over for the funeral procession for my brother on Wednesday.

• Frau Musillami: Viel Gluck! on your retirement.

• Frau Musillami for being an amazing teacher — Auf Weidersehen!

• Dr. Vermillion at Columbus Animal Hospital for taking the time to talk to me about our pup’s test results during your busy day and his staff for always being awesome.

• letter writers who pontificate on subjects, such as the NRA, about which they know nothing.

• the local resident who is once again flying his Confederate flag.

• those who cut down all the tress on the Sidney branch that runs to the Flat Rock River, which led to the bridge damage on County Road 300E, which now taxpayers have to pay to have repaired.

• the U.S. government for its continuous failure to step up in the care of U.S. citizens in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

• the person who put in an Orchid about a new pastor that was not true.

• the home-owners association for not enforcing the 55-and-over rule.

• the bicyclist who does not yield to motorized traffic on Franklin Street.
