COLUMBUS, Ind. — One of two men arrested after drug-related items were discovered in a Columbus residence is also accused of putting up a struggle while being taken into custody.
Jared D. Evans, 24, of 5265 Adkins St. is charged with possession of a syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia, battery on a law enforcement officer, visiting a common nuisance and resisting law enforcement.
Police were sent to a house in the 800 block of Reed Street at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a heroin overdose, police said.
A search of the residence rented by Josh R. Irvin turned up marijuana and additional drug paraphernalia. Irvin, 22, is charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, possession of a syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia.
