COLUMBUS
Cathryn Lynn Tempest Vogt, 60, of Columbus, went home to the Lord at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at which time she was perfectly healed by Him.
Cathy was born in Columbus, Indiana on November 20, 1957. She was the first daughter of Richard Lee and Carolyn Sebastian Tempest. Soon Cathy was joined by new sisters, Julie A. (Rob) Das of Wilson, North Carolina, Beth A. (Blake) Fuller of Greenwood, Indiana and her youngest sister, Jennifer L. Tempest of Columbus, Indiana.
Cathy attended Columbus East High School where she and her future husband, Kevin L. Vogt noticed each other in first period home room in 1973. Cathy attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina and returned to Columbus to live and work. In 1982, Cathy and Kevin noticed each other at PopFest and their friendship was rekindled. In April 1985, Cathy and Kevin were married at First Christian Church by the Reverend Harold Armstrong.
In July 1987, Cathy and Kevin were blessed with the gift of their first son, Patrick Lynn Vogt. In January 1990, they were again blessed with their second son, Jonathan David (Avery) Vogt. Cathy poured her heart and soul into bringing up her children to know the Lord and His promises.
Cathryn was a loving, faithful and loyal daughter, sister, wife and mother. Those of us who are left behind do miss Cathryn terribly, but we are comforted and certain in His promise that we will soon join with Cathryn in eternity.
