East to host eighth-grade family night
Columbus East High School will host an open house for eighth-grade students and their families.
The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the school, 230 S. Marr Road. Information about different clubs, athletic teams and academic departments will be available in the main hallway from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a formal presentation in the auditorium. Tours of the school will be offered.

Informational meeting planned at Hauser
HOPE — Hauser Jr.-Sr. High School will have an informational meeting for students and parents Wednesday.
The meeting will be at 7:45 p.m. in the auditorium at the high school, 9273 N. State Road 9.
It will include include information on classes being offered for the 2019-20 school year, graduation requirements, dual credit and Advanced Placement opportunities, the 21st Century Scholars program and pathway to post-secondary planning.

Scholarship program accepts applications
Applications are being accepted through Thursday for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana scholarship program.
The scholarships are awarded to students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.
To apply, students must be a high school senior with a minimum 2.7 GPA and eligible to attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university or technical school. Applicants must be a legal U.S. resident and younger than 21 years old.
Individuals must also live within the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana geographic area, which can found at rmhccin.org. The organization will award 20 central Indiana high school seniors each with a $5,000 scholarship.
