Columbus officials have agreed to hire HST Solutions LLC to evaluate the city’s Animal Care Services building in preparation for a possible expansion.
The building, 2730 Arnold St, was constructed in the 1980s with a goal to expand sometime in the future, Mary Ferdon, executive director of administration and community development, said during Tuesday’s Board of Works meeting at Columbus City Hall.
Animal Care Services, which is the city’s animal shelter, has had some space issues during recent years and the company will be evaluating possible expansion options and some heating and cooling issues, Ferdon said.
The contract is for an amount not to exceed $10,000, and extends through Dec. 31, unless terminated earlier by either the city or the company.
