Around Town – November 20

Orchids to …

• Joe Biden and his calm approach to preparing for the presidency.

• all of the hard-working nurses and doctors and therapists and all of the hospital staff who risk their lives looking after the COVID-19 patients.

• Coach Bob Gaddis for being a great role model for kids, teaching the importance of winning with class and losing with dignity.

• Leo Morris for an excellent column, a warning for us to change the current dangerous path our country is on, if it’s not already too late.

• Mr. and Mrs. Allen Dillman.

• Michael J. Hicks for the informative column about the lack of effects on the economy from government restrictions.

• Crista Eicher for supporting health care workers and the sacrifices they continue to make for our community.

• those who crossed over and voted for our honest, hardworking representatives.

• Greg from Acra for being the most helpful and nice car salesman we’ve ever had.

• Danette Brewer at CRH for helping out as Pete’s nurse.

Onions to …

• the federal elected official who yet again displays no class by refusing to concede an election that he was beaten soundly in.

• the doctor who, when a patient presented in his office with flu symptoms, did not do a COVID-19 test but prescribed standard medication.

• people scared of living in a “socialist” or “communist” country and decry antifa, failing to realize they are embracing fascism and authoritarianism.

• not realizing those who don’t think the virus is bad and refuse to wear a mask will not be in line for a vaccine first, or ever.

• those who don’t realize mask-less people are just runners-up for Darwin awards.

• those who do not understand that Medicare and Social Security are not socialism, our payroll taxes pay for those programs.

• those who don’t realize there are more than 1,000 people per day dying of COVID-19 and with cases rising, deaths will increase.

• the pouting federal leader who tries to steal an election while coronavirus deaths reach 2,000 a day.

• elected representatives shirking their duties in showing leadership to wear masks and keep social distance allowing the coronavirus to spread and kill a quarter of million Americans in nine months.

• those bringing frivolous claims of voter fraud into federal courts; they should immediately be charged with contempt of court.

• not understanding that “people who worship dogs” may just be respect for all God’s creatures.

• the administration’s lack of responsibility regarding COVID-19, just like the cigarette companies in the ‘50s.

• not knowing the conspiracy theory that the previous administration spied on the federal elected official’s campaign was a conspiracy theory created by Russian intelligence.

• the federal elected official who verbally says he will protect coverage of pre-existing conditions while having a lawsuit in court to get rid of the coverage.

• those still not wearing a mask which is causing COVID-19 cases to surge all over the country.

• the candidate who lost even their own city and county.

• the school corporation that became a superspreader before closing.

• those who won’t give credit to the federal official for bringing us a COVID-19 vaccine in record time.

• the cheap masks and not having n95s available to everyone.

• the big box store that requires a face mask.
