COLUMBUS
Jeffrey Scott Lane, 54, of Columbus, passed away at 7:21 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at I.U. Methodist Health-Indianapolis.
Jeffrey was born November 29, 1966, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of John and Sharon Lane. On October 12, 1996, he married Deborah Combs.
He graduated from Ivy Tech in 1988 and worked as team lead-IS for I.U. Health. Collecting trains was his big hobby. Jeffrey enjoyed listening to Christian music and singing. He also taught children’s ministry at Grace Assembly of God in Whiteland. Jeffery was a Columbus East football fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah; sons, Jordan Lane, Brandon Lane, both of Columbus; half-sister, Connie Adams of Vevay, Indiana; half-brother, Doug Lane; step-sister, Cecile (Tim) Pettit of Columbus; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Douglas and Barbara Combs, also of Columbus; sister-in-law, Donna (Bill) Day of Whiteland; nieces, Morgan Day, Emily (Lee) Pollert and nephew, Bryce Darlage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Margaret Lane and brother, Eric Lane.
A private funeral service will be held at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Pastor Jason Dailey officiating. Public visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to pandemic restrictions, we are limited to 50 people in our funeral home. We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
