Columbus woman injured in single-vehicle accident

A local woman was helicoptered to Indianapolis with injuries after she was ejected from her vehicle Saturday in Columbus.

At approximately 8:25 a.m., Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies, along with Columbus Regional Health EMS, Columbus Township Fire Department, Indiana State Police, and Lifeline Helicopter, responded to a single-vehicle accident with injury in the 4500 block of East State Street.

On arrival, deputies said they observed a single-vehicle rollover accident.

The driver, identified as Latisha Carter, 37, of Columbus, had been ejected from her car and complained of injuries, deputies said.

Deputies said Carter was transported to an Indianapolis hospital by Lifeline Helicopter.

The investigation is ongoing, deputies said.
