Mike Wolanin | The Republic Students head to class on the first day of school after spring break at Columbus North High School in Columbus, Ind., Monday, March 22, 2021.
The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. has lifted its mask requirement for teachers and students on buses, according to a message sent Monday to BCSC families.
The action follows the school corporation’s decision earlier this month to make masks optional for students at school and follows updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued Saturday. The CDC indicated it would no longer require masks on school buses.
“Given this update from the CDC and a continued decrease in positive cases around the district, BCSC will move to ‘masks optional’ for staff and students on buses beginning today, Monday, February 28, 2022,” the letter said.
COVID cases and hospitalizations in the county have dropped markedly in recent weeks.
