Marathon announces Kids Fund Run participation awards

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Mill Race Marathon organizers have announced participation awards for schools whose students competed in last Friday’s Kids Fun Run.

According to race director Randy Stafford, there was a total of 1,145 finishers for all runs. Participation rates were as follows by school:

Large elementary schools:

1. Southside Elementary: 19%

2. Clifty Creek Elementary: 14%

3. Parkside Elementary: 13%

4. Taylorsville Elementary: 10%

5. Richards Elementary: 7%

6. Schmitt Elementary: 4%

7. Hope Elementary: 1%

Medium elementary schools:

1. CSA Lincoln Elementary: 44%

2. Mt. Healthy Elementary: 5%

3. Smith Elementary: 4%

Small elementary schools:

1. ABC-Stewart Montessori: 41%

2. CSA Fodrea Elementary: 16%

3. St. Peter’s Elementary: 7%

4. St. Bartholomew Elementary: 7%

5. Rockcreek Elementary: 7%

Preschools:

1. Bei Bambini: 39%

2. First Presbyterian: 29%

3. Learning Tree: 16%

4. Asbury-CMO: 11%

5. Cummins Child Development Center: 9%

Elementary schools with the highest participation rate in each category will receive a $700 gift certificate from Hoosier Sporting Goods; schools with the second-highest rates will receive $500. All other elementary schools (except Hope) had at least 10 finishers and will receive $250 each.

Bei Bambini, as the preschool with the highest participation rate, will receive $200. All other preschools listed had at least 10 finishers and will receive $70 each.
